01 / About

Two bays, one light, no queue.

Since 2016 · 2 bays · appointment only

We are not a volume shop and the schedule says so. Coating work runs two weeks out because a car is in a bay for three or four days and we do not run two at once.

02 / Why the measurement

Why the measurement.

96–150 µm typical · 1 gauge

Correction removes clear coat, and clear coat does not grow back. There is usually between ninety-six and a hundred and fifty microns of it on a modern car, and a body shop respray can leave far less. If you do not know the number, you are polishing on faith — and the failure mode is not a bad finish, it is a panel that has to be repainted.

So we bought a gauge, and then we started giving the reading to the customer, which is the part that turned out to be unusual. A number on paper is not marketing. It is the thing that makes every other claim on this site checkable.
PanelDepthDefect
Deck lid 118 µm Buffer trail
Quarter 104 µm Swirl marks
Roof 96 µm Clear coat etch
Fender 132 µm Wash marring
Hood 150 µm Swirl marks

These readings are illustrative. They demonstrate the measurement the shop performs; they are not a reading taken from a real vehicle.

04 / What we will not do

What we will not do.

4 things we will not do

We will not quote correction over the phone or from photographs.

Nobody can, and the ones who do are quoting a package, not your car.

We will not tell you a coating stops rock chips.

Two to three microns against a stone at forty miles an hour. That is film, and film is a different price.

We will not run a rotary through an edge to save an hour.

Edges are where the clear coat is thinnest. It is also the one mistake that cannot be undone.

We will not sell you correction you do not need.

On a two-year-old car the honest answer is often a one-step and a coating, at about half the money, and we would rather say that than have you find out later.

05 / Accreditation

The certifications, and what they mean.

4 credentials · 2 on staff

Not badges. One line each on what the accreditation actually gates, and every one of them is a register you can search without asking us.

Water standing in tight beads across a coated hood and windshield Accredited install · 9-year warranty

Gtechniq

Accredited Detailer

The only route to Crystal Serum Ultra. It is not sold retail; installation is restricted to accredited shops, which is why a nine-year warranty exists at all.

XPEL

Certified Installer

Pattern access and warranty authority on Ultimate Plus.

IDA

Certified Detailer, 2 on staff

An examined credential, renewed. Two on staff.

$2M

Garage-keepers insurance

Your car is covered while it is on our floor. Ask any shop for this number. A shop that cannot answer immediately does not have it.
